Chris and I have decided to do something this October that we like to call, "Sober October." With so many of my friends in bands and myself working at a Pub, beer is a common beverage. So, starting October 1st we are both taking a month off of alcohol! A nice cleansing of the body and mind if you will. This way, we can save a few bucks (by not going to shows and buying over priced pints) and hopefully I'll loose a couple pounds! Also, my classes start on the 29th so this is a perfect way to start my last term of undergrad.
Some things I want to do more of:
play scrabble
yoga
play more tennis
sew
run? we'll see...
oh, and study!
That's it. Happy Fall!

Cannon Beach
Chris and I went to Cannon Beach on Sunday. He thought it was just for the day, but I surprised him with a room in a cute little beach house! It was perfect! It was the most beautiful day at the Oregon coast I have ever seen.

I SAW BUILT TO SPILL
After getting up early, borrowing my friend Julia to get 2 free passes to Built to Spill, picking up Chris when he got off work at 6; thinking "oh, we'll get there early and get some of that good mac 'n cheese" (right, Jenna?), while arriving at the Wonder Ballroom we see a LINE AROUND THE CORNER! WHAT!? I thought I got FREE passes??? And got up early to get them! Doesn't this mean we get in?
Nope.
Luckily we saw my old neighbors John, Shannon, Carrie and Kelly in line. So we cut a little, so what! The event staff guy came around and told us,
"There's a 10-20% chance you'll get in 2/3rds of the way through their set."
Wow, he was very accurate and very pessimistic of our hopes. We said NO. We will not leave. So we stuck it out. Carrie's boyfriend came to pick them up out of the line and as he pulled up the line moves WAY AHEAD. Yes. So close. We wait some more, I push the neighbors in front of us because if it came down to it they had to get in before us. Right as the first song started they let us in! We entered the hot, muggy, sweaty, stinky room crammed with people. We got a good little spot, heads positioned just so I could see.

MFNW
Anyone buying a wristband? Anyone gonna see some rockin' bands?
I am.
No wristband though... I wish I didn't have to work and could go anywhere, anytime. I will, however, see these guys :'nuff said.
