I have been inspired....

...to sew! Ruby's recent post about her new sewing machine and all her beautiful creations has made me itch to start sewing! My mother was a professional seamstress out of our house for many years when I was growing up, and I learned on an old singer just like Ruby's green beauty. I had been looking at thrift stores and vintage shops for only a week when I came across this magnificent machine and cabinet! A major bargain for only $40! The cabinet also included an authentic "White" brand button maker, needles, bobbins, a box of attachments and all the original manuals! I'm so excited to get this baby goin - It needs a little tune-up, but other than that... this is one solid machine, from 1938! (my mom says my grammy had one just like it).

Oh YAY....it's so beautiful! The button hole-r is really fun, so good that you have that! And it has the leg lever instead of a pedal? Fun design. Yay...you are going to have such a good time and make lots of adorable things. Be sure to post everything....I want to see :)

PS...we are moving home spring break...I'm sad to leave, but it makes the most sense. So we will be home for a month and then do the hike. Hope to see you and your fun machine!

Ruby, the leg lever is so cool! I'm going to take it in today to get it cleaned out, but other than that it is in such good shape. It's so fun! Also, yay for seeing you over spring break! We'll have to plan some fun hangout times.

Jenna, thanks! I can't wait to start making bags and such :)
